I am writing to complain about your politic of throwing food that can be unsold.

There are many people in need in our city, some of them homeless, that need our help. I was appalled when I discover that your supermarket throws away unsold food to charities for homeless people because some food is still in good conditions and it can be eaten.

I can assure that many other people share my feelings and I will start a campaign and collect signatures to prove it.

I would be grateful if you could take my suggestion in consideration and help charities and homeless people.

Dear Sir / Madam, 

We are writing to complain about the sexist content of your advertisement, which has been published in your campaign in Australia this week. 

With all due respect, we still live in a misogynist society and these kind of adverts just make it worse. The fact that there is still misogynistic behaviour nowadays is something very alarming and we must do everything we can to stop it. If we want to achieve gender equality, you should cease making these disrespectful advertisements. 

Moreover, we are aware that this is not the first sexist advertisement that you release. We have found at least two other campaigns that are an offense to women. We accept that you are not able to change those adverts but we hope you can do something about the latest one and the ones that are coming, as many people share our feelings. 

We look forward to hearing from you in the near future, since this issue concernes us all.

A good person is...

A good person is someone nice and pleasant who does things not only for themselves but for other people without asking for anything in return. For example, a friend you can always count on or a person who helps people in need, affected by poverty or a disaster.

Who do I admire?

One of the people who I admire is Kurt Hugo Schneider. He is a musician, composer, music producer and director. He makes covers with other singers and uploads them on his YouTube channel, which has almost 7 million subscribers. His most popular video has more than 100 million visits. He also writes his own songs but he doesn't usually sing on them.

Kurt is a young american boy. He has short, brown hair and green eyes. He can play the guitar, the piano and other instruments. I really like how he slows down some music covers, sometimes they are better than the original ones. I also like his music videos, they are very professional because of  the illumination, choreography, shots, originality... 

Mobile phones- a blessing or a curse.

It is true that nowadays everybody has mobile phones. Smartphones are a very useful device, at least is what the majority of people think. However, are they a blessing or a curse?

On the one hand, smartphones are the future of tecnology. Twenty years ago, if you went out and you wanted to talk with somebody that wasn't with you, you couldn't. But now everybody is connected, no matter the distance, thanks to What's app, Twitter... Moreover, you can search whatever you want on the Internet wherever you are.

On the other hand, mobile phones are like an invasion. Ten years old kids are in the street playing games and listening to music on the mobile phone. They even learn how to use a smartphone before learning to read! Furthermore, some people can become addicted to them and waste their lifes watching a little screen.

To sum up, in my opinion phones are a very useful gadget if you know how to make a good use of them. I also think that parents shouldn't buy phones for their children because they need to enjoy their childhood.

Should students have to wear uniforms? (Júlia Fas and Laura Ávila)

Some people think that wearing uniforms at school is a good way for students to learn that everybody has the same rights and obligations. However it seems to us that this is not exactly true.

We personally think that school uniforms restrict the freedom of expression of the students. It is clear to us that self expression is something very important and that everybody should be free to express themselves.

Furthermore, it is known that most uniforms are not really beautiful. As a result of this, children do not feel comfortable with them. In addition, students usually find boring wearing the same clothes every day.

What is more, most schools make students wear uniforms for them not to wear inappropiate clothes. For example, they do not want girls to wear short skirts or trousers, or boys to wear broken trousers. On top of that we think that what you wear does not determine what you are or your way of being.

To sum up, we think that school uniforms do not let people express themselves, clothes do not define your value and also that it can result uncomfortable to wear the same clothing every day.

A report about Coffast

The aim of this report is to evaluate customers' experience of our local café, which is called Cofast, and to make recommendations for improvement.

The first time I entered the café I was really surprised. In spite of the dim light, the interior design was incredibly pretty. There were a lot of beautiful paintings and some nice decorations. However, the first problem came when I took a seat because the chairs were rather uncomfortable.

I ordered a French Vanilla Coffee and a piece of strawberry cake. The local was crowded, so they took their time to bring me my order. It was worth the waiting because the vanilla coffee looked really tasty and its smell was so fragrant. It was absolutely rich, I have no objection. Unfortunately, the strawberry cake was awful. Even if I thought it would be good, it wasn't sweet at all and it tasted a little bit spicy.

To sum up, I think Coffast is a quite good café but they should change little issues to be a real success. For instance, they should buy new furniture and make the place brighter. Moreover, I think my experience with the strawberry cake was really weird and they should be more careful with these little things.

As you can see in this map, this medium-size country is located at the centre of Europe, between Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia. Its capital is Prague and it's set in the northwest of the country, near their most famous river, Elbe.

Hii we're Marina and Laura and we're going to talk about the city of Prague, which is in Czech Republic.

In this slide we can see the most important monuments of Prague. Here we can see the Dancing House, designed by Vlado Milunic in the 20th century. It is also known as Fred and Ginger. 

Here it is the most symbolic monument of the city, the astronomical clock. It is one of the oldest astronomical clocks of the world. It was made in  the 15th century. 

There we can see the Golden Lane, a very popular streer near the castle of the city, where a lot of alchimists used to live in. The famous writter Franz Kafka lived in the number 22 house. 

And there we can see the Prague Castle, which is situated in the top of the city. It is considered the largest ancient castle. 

This is the Saint Charles Bride, which crosses the Vltava river. Its  construction started in the 14 century. It is decorated by 30 statues.

This is the Wenceslas Square. In this square is situated the National  Museum of Prague. During the Velvet Revolution, a lot of demonstrations  were held here. 

And finally, we can see the Vltava River, which is crossed by Saint Charles bridge. 

This is the Prague's Jewish Quarter, known as Josefov. It's history dates from the 13th century, when Jewish people were ordered to settle in this area. There are six synagogues, including the famous Spanish Synagogue (as you can see here). The Old Jewish Cemetery is the second oldest Jewish cemetery of Europe. It was founded in the 15th century and the oldest gravestone is dated from 1439. There are about 20.000 gravestones placed one on another because of the lack of space. The Jewish Quarter is also the birthplace of the celebrated writer Franz Kafka, who is commemorated with this statue. 

There a lot of things to do in Prague, such as get a boat trip on Vltava river while seeing a panoramic view of the city, get a segway tour around the city,  watch the astronomical clock in action, which happens every hour, or watch  a black theatre performance.
