Some people
think people who commit non-serious crimes should not go to prison, but I think
is a complex and serious issue and we need to discuss it.
On the one
hand, if we send people to prison for every kind of crime, prisons will be
swamped of criminals. This is why we need to establish what is a non-serious
crime. If we do not do that, the judicial system will be disoriented and
confused.
On the
other hand, if a person commits a lot of non-serious crimes, what will justice
do? Will that person be free? I think this is unfair.
Finally, in
my opinion, all crimes must be punished in some way, like paying a fine or
doing community service, but I think prison is a huge and excessive punishment
and the judges must consider the importance of the crime before they pass
sentence.
